Pastor Jack Moore to Retire after 27 Years
Pastor Jack C. Moore, who has served at Charleston Baptist Church of Charleston, South Carolina for 27 years, has announced his retirement.
The Iva, South Carolina native, has pastored churches in Louisiana, North Carolina and South Carolina. He is a graduate of Anderson College, Southern Wesleyan University, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Luther Rice Seminary.
Under his leadership, he oversaw and dedicated the preschool and children’s classroom additions and the Family Ministry Center that included a gym, fellowship hall, as well as a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen and additional classrooms.
In the words of Pastor Jack C. Moore, “We thank God for our past and look forward to a glorious future. We take our hats off to the past and our coats off to the future. We have come this far by faith and with Jesus the best is yet to be.”
He and his wife, Ellen, have three children and 13 grandchildren.
“For over 27 years, it has been my privilege to be pastor and now co-pastor of Charleston Baptist Church.”
“In some way, it seems that the years have gone by fast and now I find that the time has come for me to announce my retirement.”
“Therefore, effective February 28, 2017, I will retire as co-pastor of Charleston Baptist Church.”
“Pastor Kevin Giordano will assume the full mantle of pastoral leadership.”
“Pastor Kevin is a wonderful man of God and a caring and dedicated pastor. I ask and pray that you will give your follow-ship to his Godly and wise leadership. A pastor-led church is clearly taught in the New Testament and is well-pleasing to the Lord.”
“As for Ellen and myself, we will continue to serve the Lord as he directs.”
“Again, thank you for your love and support. Please know that you will always be in our thoughts and prayers.”

Such an awesome man of God! His wisdom and love of God has inspired so many people through the years. CBC was so blessed! Now, we welcome Pastor Kevin with open arms and pray for his wisdom and leadership to continue to serve the Lord at his will as he has been doing.
