Christmas Praise & Worship
December 13, 2020
Christmas carols are not just songs of celebration, they are ancient songs of revolution. When we sing these scriptures, we are proclaiming the holy promises of God.
Joy to the World
Joy is the voice of hope. Mankind has long tried to possess joy apart from God, but that’s impossible. You can’t have joy without hope. You can’t have hope without faith, and you can’t have faith without love.
For Unto Us a Child is Born
This prophetic promise signified something earth-shattering to the people of ancient Israel. The angels said “Fear not,” because this Child (Jesus, the Messiah) has been born to us.
We will fear not…because the Government will rest upon His shoulders. We will fear not…because the gates of hell will not prevail against Him. We will fear not…because He has overcome the world.
The First Noel
“They looked up and saw a star shining in the East.” One ordinary night, angels appeared to the shepherds announcing the birth of Christ. The shepherds experienced the glory of the Lord, and their lives would never be the same; yet after they saw Jesus, they went right back to being shepherds. They didn’t need to change their outward circumstance, because that night of glorious worship had changed them on the inside. True worship is like that. Has your life been transformed on the inside by Jesus?
Peace on Earth
This peace is not just about a feeling of well-being; it’s about wholeness. To be at peace is to be put back together again. God favors you. Jesus is here to bring you peace.
